Zainab Ruhwanya
Zainab Ruhwanya is the founder and team leader of the Cybersecurity and Privacy Research Group and is a lecturer at the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Commerce, University of Cape Town. Her areas of specialisation include Cybersecurity, Software Development, and Programming.
Zainab's area of expertise is in conducting empirical research related to cybersecurity and privacy within organisations. She explores topics such as the human aspect of information security and privacy, cybercrime and society, emerging technologies and cybersecurity, SETA, information security design, and development grounded on design science research (DSR), usable security, and other related areas. With her cutting-edge research projects, Zainab aims to advance the field of cybersecurity and make the digital world a safer place for individuals and organisations. She is committed to inspiring the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and helping organisations achieve optimal security and privacy practices.
