Henok Moges

Department of Computer Science

Henok is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence Systems at the Artificial Intelligence Research Unit (AIRU) in the Department of Computer Science. After completing a PhD in Applied Mathematics with a focus on nonlinear dynamics and chaos theory, he now works at the intersection of applied mathematics and machine learning. His research involves developing and evaluating deep learning methods for modelling complex physical and dynamical systems, with particular emphasis on Spatial-Temporal Graph Neural Networks (STGNNs). He uses tools from chaos theory to examine how well these models capture stability, structure, and long-term behaviour in the systems they aim to learn. Driven by an interest in scientific knowledge discovery and robust modelling, Henok brings expertise in both mathematical analysis and machine learning to this evolving field.
